Lumberjack Open 2020

Lumberjack Jamboree - Bemidji Tennis Players
Date: Thursday, July 16th
Location: Bemidji High School

We will be modifying the tournament format this year to provide a mix of match play and other fun competition.  This falls in line with the plans of other summer activities such as the Lumberjack Scramble fundraiser, which is planning on modifying its setup this year.

Please review the information below. Thanks!

- All players planning on participating need to register online by 11:59pm on Wednesday, July 15th. Players who do not register online will not be able to participate, as we need to set up brackets, teams, match formats, etc. ahead of time.

- Registration is free for all Bemidji Summer Tennis participants.

- The format for each group will depend on the number of registrants we receive. All players will receive instruction on their match format, opponents, etc. at their group's start time. The format will vary between age groups and ability levels, and we are hoping to provide a fun and competitive experience for all involved!

- All girls matches will be on the south courts (closest to the soccer fields), and the boys matches will be on the north courts (closest to Division Street).

Group Times
Elementary - 5:00pm - 5:50pm
Middle School - 6:00pm-7:50pm
High School - 8pm-10pm

- All events/groups will be at Bemidji High School.

-Parents/spectators - Please emphasize social distancing when at BHS. While the minimum recommended distance is 6ft, we are highly encouraging maximum possible distance between spectators. Please bring your own chairs and sit or stand around the outside of the courts to watch your son or daughter play. We are going to try to keep spectators in the the center "alley" between the courts to a minimum. There is no perfect system, but that is our plan to prioritize safety and our COVID guidelines while also providing a chance to spectators to watch some great tennis!
*You will receive a brief confirmation message below when you submit the registration.

Lumberjack Open 2020 Update

Bemidji Tennis has decided to hold the 2020 Lumberjack Open only for Bemidji Tennis program participants. After discussions with our school district and our organization regarding COVID-19 health and safety policies, we decided that would be the best path forward at this time. One of our biggest regrets will be missing out on seeing all of our great participants from the last few years. We are planning on holding the Lumberjack Open next year in 2021, and we hope to see you there! Saturday, July 17th and Sunday, July 18th, 2021 are the tentative dates. Thank you for your participation in past years, and we hope you have a wonderful summer and a great tennis season during the upcoming school year!

*We have (belatedly) posted a photo album from the 2020 tournament. We tried to get pictures of most participants at the Bemidji High School site, but we weren't able to get pictures of everyone. Those pictures are posted at the bottom of this page.
